Privacy
Check The Name has no registration or user accounts.
When you check a name, it is sent to our server, which looks at the public pages of TikTok, Instagram, Threads and YouTube without credentials or sessions. The server keeps each result in memory for a short time (up to one hour for found profiles, five minutes for absent profiles and 30 seconds for unverified responses) and counts each IP address's checks for one minute to limit abuse; it keeps no search history.
Your browser keeps the last five names you searched for and the light or dark theme (local storage). You can clear the recent names from the checker.
When you subscribe with the form at the end of every page, we store your email address and language to send you the updates you request. Every email includes an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing deletes your email address.
The contact form sends the first name, last name, email and message you write to our mailbox so we can answer your enquiry; we don't use them for anything else. Do not include sensitive information.
Your cookie choice is stored in your browser (local storage and the cookie_consent cookie); you can remove it through your browser's settings. If you accept optional cookies, the site loads Google Analytics to measure visits; if you reject them, it doesn't.
The hosting provider may log technical requests, including IP addresses. Opening a profile or a platform from the results takes you away from Check The Name: each network applies its own privacy policy.
